For many years, the Chevrolet Colorado has been one of the most popular pickup trucks on the road. This is for good reason — the Colorado offers a unique blend of affordability, power, and versatility. With Chevrolet about to release the 2024 model, now is the perfect time to learn a little more about this truck and decide if it’s right for you. Below, we’ll give you a brief overview of the upcoming 2024 Chevrolet Colorado to help you make an informed decision about your next vehicle.

What To Expect With The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado

For 2024, Chevrolet made some significant changes to its Colorado pickup truck that are sure to excite you. If you’re interested in getting the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado, here’s what you can expect.

Improved Exterior Look

To start, the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado continues to use the exterior design it debuted in 2023. This means that you’ll get the new rugged design that features the new distinctive look. Some of the exterior design elements you can expect in 2024 include a prominent front grille with the Chevy badge in the middle, a solid front bumper, square headlights, and built-in steps in the rear for easier access to the truck bed. You’ll also be able to get your 2024 Chevrolet Colorado in one of several colors, including Black, Dark Ash, Cardinal Red, Glacier White, and Brownstone Metallic.

A Comfortable Interior

Moving inside the truck, you’ll find a spacious cabin that’s loaded with plenty of the newest amenities. You and your front passenger will have ample amounts of legroom and headroom, while those in the back should remain comfortable as well. The cabin of the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado uses comfortable and premium materials throughout, lending itself to a modern design that also feels comfortable.

In addition to plenty of passenger space, there’s also a decent amount of storage space on the inside, which is perfect for storing your belongings. For instance, there’s a large center console that’s perfect for storing all the things you need on the road, along with a few cup holders directly in front of it. All in all, you’ll find the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado to be a comfortable experience, whether you’re just running some errands around town or making long road trips.

A More Powerful Engine

Perhaps the biggest reason to get the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado is the engine. Although there’s only one engine available with the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado, it can deliver two different horsepower outputs. This is a 2.7-liter inline-four engine that delivers 237 horsepower on the WT and LT trims. With this engine, you’ll be able to tow around 3,500 pounds, which is enough for a small trailer.

However, if you want the largest towing capacity possible, you’ll want to upgrade to either the Z71 or Trail Boss trim. These can tow up to 7,700 pounds, which is the most in the midsize pickup segment, thanks to the 310-horsepower output. Whichever engine output you select, it will pair with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either four- or rear-wheel drive.

To make the driving experience even better, the new 2024 Chevrolet Colorado uses an independent rear front suspension and a solid rear axle with leaf springs. If you upgrade to the ZR2 trim, you’ll also get large Multimatic dynamic suspensions spool valve dampers in the front. This means your 2024 Chevrolet Colorado will provide a smooth ride and be fully capable of handling tougher driving conditions.

Finally, despite having this more powerful engine, the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado still delivers great fuel efficiency. The 2024 Chevrolet Colorado gets its best efficiency when equipped with rear-wheel drive, as it delivers 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. If you instead opt for four-wheel drive, these estimates will drop slightly to 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

The Latest Technology

As one of the newest vehicles from Chevrolet, the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado, comes packed with some of the latest technology features. For starters, each 2024 Chevrolet Colorado model comes with a large 11.3-inch infotainment system in the center of the dashboard. This touch-screen display makes it easy to control your vehicle’s settings and media, especially when you make use of the included Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. Also in the front, you’ll find a wireless phone charging station and several USB ports so you can keep your devices charged at all times.

The technology upgrades also extend to the safety features. Each 2024 Chevrolet Colorado comes with the Chevy Safety Assist package, which includes many of the latest safety technologies. For example, standard safety features include forward collision warning, automated emergency braking, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. Adaptive cruise control is also available, which can make long highway drives and traffic jams a little more enjoyable.

An Affordable Price

Finally, as with all Chevrolet vehicles, you can expect the 2024 Chevrolet Colorado to come at an affordable price. There are six trim levels available, so you can easily find a version of the Colorado that fits your preferred balance of features and cost. While Chevrolet hasn’t released the final MSRPs yet, we expect the base model to have a starting MSRP of around $31,000, while the fully loaded ZR2 Bison will have a starting MSRP of around $63,000.
