Get ready for some star-spangled fun at this year’s Freedom Fest. The event, now in its 25th year, takes place at Castle Hills Village Shops & Plaza. This year, the city of Lewisville will offer free shuttle rides into Lake Avalon Park from Killian Middle School and Hebron High School, meaning you won’t have to worry about parking at the event or traffic after the fireworks show.

This popular festival offers plenty of fun for the whole family, including face painting, games, waterslides, and a bungee ride. Three bands — The Bandulus, Gratzi, and Burning Sky Band — will perform live from 6 p.m. You can also stop by one of the many food trucks or dine at a Village Shops restaurant to fill up before the fireworks display. The dazzling show begins at dusk, capping off a festive day of food, family, and freedom.

Date and time: 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on July 4. Shuttles begin at 4 p.m. Visit the city’s website for more information.

Location: 2590 King Arthur Blvd., Lewisville.

July Jubilee

Head to Little Elm, Texas, on July Fourth for a full day of fun along the lakefront. Once again, the July Jubilee will feature two simultaneous fireworks shows: one at Little Elm Beach and the other at Little Elm High School. Before the fireworks, spend the day at Little Elm Park to visit vendors, eat some food, and listen to live music from the band Empire 6.

After dark, enjoy the spectacular fireworks display over the lake, set to music broadcast by radio station KHYI 95.3 The Range. You can reserve a parking spot before the event or on the day in one of two paved lots at Little Elm Park. There’s also the option to purchase tickets for overnight camping if you and your family want to enjoy some extra quality time together in this idyllic lakefront community.

Date and time: 4 p.m. until dark on July 4.

Location: 701 W. Eldorado Parkway, Little Elm.

Liberty By The Lake

If you want to extend the Fourth of July fun, make plans to attend Liberty By The Lake on Saturday, July 1. The 26th annual festival kicks off with 5K, 10K, and 1-mile races at Stewart Creek Park. After getting in your exercise for the day, head to the Independence Day Parade. This year’s theme will be “Celebrate Texas,” so get into character and pay tribute to your favorite Texas celebrity, team, or food.

The fun doesn’t stop after the parade. The Family Fun Zone will offer various activities for the kiddos, including bounce houses, a mechanical bull, and a nine-hole putt-putt course. You and your family can test your appetites at the festival’s annual watermelon eating contest. Liberty By The Lake will also feature other festive foods, live entertainment, and an evening fireworks show choreographed to music at The Colony Five Star Complex.

Date and time: All events take place on July 1. Check the event schedule for all times and activities.

Location: 4100 Blair Oaks Drive, The Colony.

Frisco Freedom Fest

Enjoy two full days of nonstop festivities at the Frisco Freedom Fest. This popular festival kicks off on Monday, July 3, with “Night at the Races.” The event includes a cornhole tournament, the Yankee Doodle Poodle Parade, and the 5K Glow Run. Get a group together and grab some glow sticks to get ready for a fun night run through Frisco Square.

The following day, you can sleep in and head back to Frisco in the afternoon for Party in the Plaza. Your little ones will enjoy the children’s expo with rides, games, and entertainers. There’s also a stage with live entertainment and a classic car show where you can vote for your favorite vehicle. You won’t go hungry with plenty of food booths at the Taste of Frisco. The evening ends with a 20-minute fireworks display at Toyota Stadium after the conclusion of the FC Dallas match.

Date and time: Activities begin at 4 p.m. on July 3 and continue through July 4. See the event schedule for full details.
