If you adhere to a specific diet, you may be tempted to stay home for your meals. However, plenty of restaurants in Lewisville, Texas, serve a variety of healthy alternatives to accommodate many diet lifestyles, and we’ve highlighted some of our favorites below.

Seven Mile Cafe

Seven Mile Cafe is a restaurant on West Church Street that serves breakfast and lunch. You can sit down for a nice meal as early as 7 a.m. This establishment stays open until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, extending its closing time to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. There are plenty of healthy breakfast and lunch options to stick to your diet.

Any item on the menu that has an ivy symbol next to it or is in the “Fresh Start” section of the breakfast menu has vegan options. For example, you can order a berry or green smoothie, both of which use soy milk. Other vegan breakfast starters include steel-cut oatmeal with almond milk and a monkey bowl with granola and almond milk.

If you want something more filling for breakfast, you can get vegan versions of the Avocado Scramble, Garden Scramble, House Pancakes, and Jo’s Breakfast Tacos. The establishment also has versions of the House Pancakes, Bananza Pancakes, Cinnamon Roll Pancakes, Chocolate Chip Pancakes, and Berry Dream Pancakes that cater to gluten-sensitive people.

Do you plan to show up just in time for lunch? Seven Mile Cafe has just-as-tasty, healthy lunch items. The Beyond Burger and the California Beyond Burger come with a plant-based burger patty, and diners can switch out the Monterey Jack cheese for vegan cheese. Another filling and healthy lunch item is the avocado melt. It replaces meat with a hearty chunk of avocado and has fresh tomatoes and cremini mushrooms for added flavor.

Starship Bagel

Starship Bagel might be a local bagel shop in Lewisville, Texas, but its menu is truly out of this world. It serves various bagel flavors, including plain sesame, poppy, salt, wasabi sesame, onion, Za’atar, pretzel, and garlic. You can liven up any bagel with Starship Bagel’s cream cheese, which the employees make fresh every day in-house. Order a bagel for yourself, or pick up a box of six or 12 for your entire family.

If you’re a sandwich lover, Starship Bagel can cater to you. You can order a carrot lox sandwich with capers or its famous cucumber sandwich with your bagel of choice, thinly sliced cucumbers, and vegan cream cheese. Another favorite item is the Millennial Falcon, an avocado and tomato sandwich you can make vegan-friendly with vegan cream cheese.

Do you follow a vegan diet but don’t want to skip out on your morning coffee? Starship Bagel has covered you, as oat and almond milk are available. All the flavored syrups that Starship Bagel stocks are vegan-friendly, so you never have to go without the flavors you love.

Freebirds

Freebirds is a restaurant with locations throughout eastern and southern Texas, and we’re lucky enough to have one right here in Lewisville. Stop in for a burrito in four sizes depending on your hunger.

You can order your burrito with the Siete Grain-Free Tortilla if you have a gluten allergy. When selecting your meat, you have the option of plant-based chorizo. This chorizo is perfect for vegans and vegetarians and offers a hearty filling option. You can also opt for avocado as your base instead. These substitutions also apply to the bowls and salads you order.

Freebirds is great because it allows for a lot of customization, which makes it easy to meet your dietary needs. You can order any menu item exactly how you want it and leave off whatever you don’t want. No one will judge you for skipping the cheese and loading up on the salsa instead, so stop in for a burrito, salad, or bowl.

The Catch

The Catch is another restaurant with locations throughout Texas, and the Lewisville site is right on West Main Street. If you follow a pescatarian diet, The Catch has many options. Kick your meal off with delicious starters like fried jalapenos, fried pickles, garlic bread, or fried green tomatoes.

Moving to the main course, you can get one of the multiple seafood baskets, including popcorn shrimp, jumbo shrimp, catfish, whitefish, and fried oyster baskets. If you can’t decide what you want, you can get a Combo. The Catch’s combinations include catfish and jumbo shrimp and catfish and crawtails.

You might be wondering what the catch is with The Catch. The truth is, we couldn’t find one. The restaurant even offers more gourmet options that run for market price, including boiled shrimp, boiled snow crab, and boiled crawfish.

Ramen Hakata

Ramen Hakata serves Hakata-style ramen. All its menu items that contain pork or chicken have images of a pig or chicken, respectively. If you follow a vegetarian diet, you can avoid these items and opt for menu items with an image of two leaves next to them instead. These items are vegetarian and don’t contain any of the pork-based broth that Ramen Hakata often uses. The vegetarian menu items either feature tofu or just add extra vegetables so that you can still enjoy the delicious flavors.

All ramen menu items, including the Tonkotsu Ramen, Miso Ramen, and Special Ramen, have the option of gluten-free noodles, so you don’t have to miss out on favorites like the Vegetarian Shoyu Ramen, which has vegetarian Shoyu broth, buttered corn, tofu, avocado, and shitake mushroom. You can also order any of the meat-free rice bowls as they are or ask for bowls like the Spicy Tuna Don without the meat.
