Diners in Lewisville, TX To Visit!

Diners are one of those American classics that blend charm, purpose, and efficiency to offer a sense of comfort and community, no matter where you are. Diner culture sprang up around laborers to serve them lunch, and they remain largely loyal to that clientele — offering a simple but delicious cup of coffee, a plate of pancakes, or a burger for an affordable price.

The thing about diners is that they remind you of home, and no matter where you travel, you can find that same welcoming feeling in a diner’s seat. Luckily for us, we have some stellar diners right here in Lewisville, Texas. So whether you’re visiting, or you’re a long-time local, you can head to one of these diners to fill your belly and chat with the locals.

If you’ve ever been to Jackie’s Ham ‘N Eggs, you know the comforting feeling that envelopes you when you walk through the door. Decked out in blue checkered table cloths and all the familiar comforts of home, this is as home-town-diner as it gets. Jackie’s opens bright and early around six every morning, so you can stop there before work or family events to enjoy a filling and delicious breakfast. Jackie’s opened in 1985, so the people there have had plenty of time to perfect their craft. Their Texas-sized servings and over-the-top comfort food are part of what earned them a spot among the best breakfasts in Dallas in D Magazine.

Whether you’re a pancake or protein kind of person, Jackie has something for you. Get a pancake that’s bigger than your head, or go for the Texas-sized slab of ham with a side of eggs. You can pair Jackie’s Famous Home-Style Fries with any food to make a complete meal. If you’re planning to bring a large party to Jackie’s, skip the waiting by reserving your table on their website so you can roll up, fill up, and get going.

Korner Cafe

If there could possibly be anything better than a Texas-sized breakfast, it might be an all-day breakfast, which Korner Cafe has. It’s the most important meal of the day, after all, and Korner Cafe just wants to make sure you get yours before getting on with your day. Though “cafe” is in the name, don’t get it confused — this spot is as diner as any of them, just with a little twist. It has all your favorites, including breakfast sandwiches, omelets, and eggs benedict, but Korner also brings bold flavors and unique combinations with their stuffed French toast and breakfast tacos.

Not in the mood for breakfast? Don’t fret. The Korner Cafe has you covered for lunch and dinner as well, with classic offerings like home-style chicken fried steak, old-fashioned burgers, and Salisbury steaks. For those days when you just want something a little extra, you can go for one of the Korner’s more interesting offerings, like their coconut shrimp, twisted spinach salad, chicken parmesan, or gyros. Finish off your meal with a serving of rum raisin bread pudding or peaches and cream for a truly decadent experience.

Local Diner

The one thing that diners do well is simplicity, and is there anything simpler than a diner that’s called Local Diner? You don’t have to question where you’re going or what you’ll be getting when you head over to the Local Diner. And you’ll be put right at ease when you walk through the doors — the black-and-white checkered bar with old-fashioned stools and classic booths practically scream diner!

Local Diner opened in 1989 and prides itself in offering fair prices and a menu with true diner classics, like the Diner Club, breakfast combos, hash browns, eggs, blueberry pancakes, and waffles. When you’re done with your meal, you can wash it all down with a delicious shake like the Oreo Scream, Blueberry Hill, Mocca Man, Brown Cow, or The Monkey.

Mama’s Daughter’s Diner

The people behind Mama’s Daughter’s Diner have more than 60 years in food service, which has given them plenty of time to refine Mama’s fresh baked pies, rolls, and cornbread. Though the outside is unassuming, the inside is everything you want from a diner: warm, inviting, and creative. On one wall, you can peruse a mural depicting Lewisville, and on the other side of the room, you can see right into the kitchen where they’re prepping your food. On yet another wall is the old-school diner bar with a soda fountain and plenty of sweet tea.

Everything at this diner is down-to-earth and made in-house. Whether you want to come in and sit down, order your food to-go, or have Mama’s cater for your next event, you can choose from their wide selection of home-cooked meals. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays, Mama’s has specials like chicken fried steak, roast beef, hamburger steak, meatloaf, liver and onions, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, fried catfish, and sausage and sauerkraut.

If you’re not hungry for a special, you can always go for the old-fashioned hamburger, patty melt, or ham and cheese club. Like the Korner Cafe, Mama’s has breakfast all day. From the breakfast menu, you can go for delicacies like blueberry pecan pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, homemade biscuits and gravy, pecan waffles, hash browns, home fries, grits, cinnamon rolls, fresh fruit, and omelets.
