PBR Lewisville

Those looking for a unique form of entertainment should consider attending the PBR Lewisville event on Sept. 17. Starting at 5 p.m., it begins with a cattle-driven parade that leads the crowd to the Bill Weaver Arena. Local country band, The Bird Dogs will provide a free concert to get everyone excited for the upcoming show.

At 7:30 p.m., the Professional Bull Riders (PBR) kick off the bull-riding event that features athletes from the PBR Challenger Series. The stakes are high, as riders are competing for a chance to qualify for the Challenger Championship that will take place on Nov. 3 in Las Vegas. Proceeds from the event will help the veteran’s charity Book Campaign, which uses transformative, individualized programs to improve the lives of service members and their families.

Western Days Festival

The Western Days Festival is a fall community event that embraces Texas’ southern charm and encourages you to unleash your inner cowboy. The expected attendance for this event is anywhere from 25,000 to 30,000 people, and it kicks off at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. It goes until 11:30 p.m.. It reopens on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Admission is free if you enter before 7 p.m.; children 12 and younger always get in for free. Across both days, three stages will feature some of the best local artists and groups performing country tunes.

There will also be plenty of activities, ranging from themed events and attractions to food and shopping. One of the most anticipated activities is the Padrino Foods World Tamale Eating Championship, which has procured winners such as famous competitive eater Joey “Jaws” Chestnut in the past. The Western Days Festival is also a great time for kids of all ages, as they can enjoy family-friendly activities like a roller roper, boogie woogie train, bounce houses, and inflatable obstacle courses. A “Kid Country” wristband also lets children make a DIY tie-dye T-shirt for only $5.

Lebanese Food Festival

If you want to experience another culture or perhaps connect with your own, consider attending the Lebanese Food Festival. Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church is set to host this weekend-long event, giving you plenty of opportunities to attend. The first two days are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. The festival will also take place on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Experience authentic dishes like hummus, baklawa, falafel, and kafta sandwiches. There will also be a raffle where you can win huge gift certificates to places like Costco, Sam’s, and Best Buy. Even if you don’t win, you’ll be glad to hear that the proceeds help raise money for the church’s Annual Educational Scholarship Program. Entertainment throughout the event will include informational sessions on Lebanese culture, traditional folk dancers, and cooking classes.

Classic Car Show

The Castle Hills Village Shops & Plaza hosts many events throughout the year, one being its annual Classic Car Show. This event is perfect for children, car enthusiasts, and anyone with a nostalgic spirit. You’ll see a display of some of the automotive industry’s most iconic vehicles thanks to the help of Time Machine Car Shows. It’s also the perfect opportunity to meet other car enthusiasts and share your passion for the automotive industry.

The 2022 Classic Car Show will take place on Sunday, Oct. 2, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so consider arriving early to get the first look. After you’re done, or if you want a break from the car show, be sure to visit the surrounding restaurants and retail stores for a fun-filled Sunday. The plaza has plenty of dining options to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters.

Best Little Brewfest in Texas

If you want to get out with friends and can leave the kids at home, be sure to check out the 10th annual Best Little Brewfest in Texas. This event is set to take place on Oct. 15 from 3 to 7 p.m. A VIP ticket will grant you admission as early as 1:30 p.m. in addition to VIP lounge access. Even if you opt for general admission, your ticket will still include a souvenir tasting cup, 12 free samples, and access to retail vendors and food trucks.

Over 40 local and international craft breweries will serve an extensive selection of beers, wines, ciders, and seltzers throughout the afternoon. Live music from the main stage on the east end of Ferguson Plaza will create a lively atmosphere, but if you’re in the mood for an acoustic vibe, be sure to head over to the second stage in front of City Hall. Other entertainment includes vendor tents selling craft beer, beauty products, decor, and other items that make great gifts.
