Holiday Festivities for the Family in Lewisville, TX

Need some help planning your holiday activities this year? A lot is going on in Lewisville and the surrounding areas. From holiday strolls to tree lightings to winter carnivals and more, you’re sure to find plenty to keep you busy this holiday season.

Old Town Holiday Stroll

Kick-off your holiday celebration on Saturday, December 4, at the Old Town Holiday Stroll, a family-friendly event in Lewisville that starts at 8 a.m. with a pancake breakfast with Santa; tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for kids. After breakfast, enjoy a slew of events, such as Story Time with Mrs. Claus and Selfies with Santa, throughout the day.

An Elf Scavenger Hunt will be held from 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and kids are invited to stop by the craft station and make Christmas crafts all day long. Several attractions, including pony rides, face painting, and the Polar Express Train, are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The night concludes with a holiday movie under the stars. Music City Mall Tree Lighting

Ring in the holidays at Music City Mall with the lighting of the Christmas tree. Enjoy music from Andrew Frye and Candi Bleu as Santa Claus lights the tree. There will be several activities, such as Letters to Santa, free balloons, and a Christmas craft station for kids. If you’re looking for budget-friendly fun, the event is free and takes place on December 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in front of the Big Kids Playground.

Christmas at the Cabin

Christmas at the Cabin is a popular event held at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area (LLELA) every year. Upon arrival, you’ll tour the historic Minor-Porter cabin, where you’ll celebrate an 1870s Christmas. Attendees are invited to make a Christmas ornament to take home, make a corn husk doll, and create a hand-dipped candle. While you’re there, take a few minutes to sip hot apple cider by the fire and listen to Christmas carols.

Christmas in the Cabin occurs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 18. No registration is required. There is a $5 per vehicle entrance fee.

Will Hearn’s Grand Ol’ Christmas Show

The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show is a one-of-a-kind, live musical comedy that features N-O-E-L Radio Orchestra and Gospel Singers and Blue Water Highway, an alternative indie rock band from the Texas Gulf Coast. The show is performed through the framework of a vintage radio show and combines classic Christmas songs with original sketch comedy. It’s designed to appeal to various generations, a concept the show’s presenters refer to as progressive nostalgia. The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show takes place at the Lewisville Grand Theater on December 17. Shows start at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and tickets are $35.

Enchant Christmas: The Great Search

Experience Enchant Christmas, a Christmas village and light maze featuring millions of dazzling lights and an assortment of art installations. During the event, you’ll embark on The Great Search, an adventure maze that takes guests through a twinkling dreamland on a search for Santa’s missing gifts. Before you start the maze, visit the Christmas village, which includes an ice-skating trail, samples of gourmet holiday treats from around the world, an artisan Christmas market, and more.

The event takes place on the Esplanade at Fair Park in Dallas. It runs from November 26 through January 2 and opens at 5 p.m. nightly. Tickets range in price from $20 to $35, and children under age 3 are free.

Holiday at the Arboretum

Make the drive to the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden and enjoy Holiday at the Arboretum, an annual holiday event. Stroll through the grounds, and don’t miss the garden’s elaborately decorated gazebos representing the 12 Days of Christmas. Enjoy the dazzling holiday displays that incorporate over a million lights at night.

After you’ve toured the garden, stop by the Christmas Village and enjoy entertainment, shopping, food and beverage options, and visits with Santa. The event starts on November 10 and lasts until December 31. Tickets are $17 for ages 13 to 64, $14 for ages 65 and up, and $12 for ages 2 to 12. Members get in for free. Event hours vary depending on the date, so check the website for more information.

The Elf on the Shelf Magical Holiday Journey

Experience a little holiday magic at The Elf on the Shelf Magical Holiday Journey, an outdoor holiday event held at Choctaw Stadium in Arlington. During your visit, you’ll meet several Scout elves that will help you embark on a journey to save Christmas. Enjoy twinkling light displays, gingerbread villages, a toy repair workshop, holiday treats, and more.

The event runs from November 18 through January 2. Ticket prices and hours vary based on date, so check the website when making your plans.

Radiance! and Frozen Frisco

One ticket is all you need to experience both the Radiance! Light Show and the all-new Frozen in Frisco, an outdoor winter carnival. When you arrive, park your car and hop aboard the Holly Jolly Trolley, which will take you through the light show where you’ll enjoy over 3 million synchronized lights choreographed to the tunes of popular holiday classics. Grab a cup of hot chocolate to help you stay warm on the ride.

Frozen in Frisco features a two-story ice tubing hill, a carousel, bumper cars on ice, a snowball toss, a Ferris wheel, reindeer rides, an escape room, and more. The event is held at Riders Field in Frisco and runs from November 18 through January 1. Ticket prices range from $19.99 to $39.99, depending on the date you go. A VIP option is available for an additional $14.99. Parking is $9.24 but is included in the VIP option.
