Want to kick off the Mother’s Day festivities one day early? On Saturday, May 13, Lofty Spaces is holding a family-friendly event with some of the best vendors in Dallas. Admission is free, so bring your mother along and join in the various raffles and giveaways that will award prizes for you and your loved ones. You Are Loved Mother’s Day Brunch

The You Are Loved Mother’s Day brunch will be held in the City Center District on May 14. Organizers are encouraging patrons to dress in semi-formal attire. Along with food and drinks, a guest speaker will discuss the importance of women’s empowerment. Future planning includes turning this gathering into an annual event.

On Sunday, May 14, more than 20 local vendors will have goods and services that you can treat your mom to. You’ll find handcrafted items, jewelry, clothing, artwork, candles, and more. Go check out the Pickleball tournament to see why the sport is becoming increasingly popular nationwide. Seeking more entertainment? There will also be lawn games for your mom and the whole family to enjoy. Admission is free.

Break out your all-white clothing and bring your mom along to a jazz brunch buffet at Draped Events. Have you ever attended a catering soiree put on by The Cedric Frazier Experience? Whether you have or not, you’re in for a treat on Saturday, May 13. Cedric Frazier is a renowned private chef with expertise in luxury dining. Having prepared delicacies for celebrities and government officials, Chef Frazier knows how to lay out an enticing spread. This extravagant Mother’s Day buffet will blow you away.

Some offerings that are sure to please everyone will include seasonal fruit platters, garden salads, assorted breakfast pastries, and charcuterie boards. For those of you with a heartier appetite, the following dishes are also being served:

Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Mother’s Day Home Tour. This weekend-long affair will be held on May 13 and May 14 and will provide a vintage auto display, an open-air art fair, live entertainment, food trucks, and more. However, the home tour along Swiss Avenue and surrounding streets is the biggest attraction. It will showcase early 20th-century homes, such as a Mediterranean villa, an Italian Renaissance home with colonial influences, a modern version of a Craftsman design constructed for 21st-century living, and four other styles.

For your comfort and pleasure, attendees can be transported to each home at no additional charge via air-conditioned mini-coaches or horse-drawn carriages. In Savage Park, an assortment of food and drinks will be served by Kona Ice, Cousins Maine Lobster, Ruthie’s Rolling Café, and more. Local musicians will entertain you on the main stage and local artists will display their work and custom pieces. There will also be a children’s play area.

Tickets are currently available online. Starting April 1, you can purchase them at Talulah & HESS in the Skillman-Live Oak Shopping Center and Texas Goods Company in the Hillside Village Shopping Center. Online ticket sales end at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 6. The price will increase during the weekend of the event and can be paid at the main ticket table in Savage Park or at any of the homes on the tour. Children 12 years of age and younger are admitted free.
