St. Paddy’s Day Dash 5K
Get up and active on this year’s St. Patrick’s Day by joining the annual St. Paddy’s Day Dash 5K in Dallas, Texas, just a 30-minute drive from Lewisville. Wear green, and consider donning beads, a kilt, or a tutu to get into the holiday spirit. If your outfit’s crazy enough, you might just win the tutu contest. After your run or walk, enjoy the after-party, where you can eat, drink, take photos, and dance to music by DJ Dame.
Meet at Central Market on 5750 East Lovers Lane on Saturday, March 12, 2022, to start the 5K race at 8:00 a.m. Try to find your own pot of gold by competing for a cash prize. The winners are the top three fastest male and female runners in each age group, and the age groups start at nine years old and under. Along with attending the post-race awards ceremony, test your skills in the doughnut-eating contest or try to find Jason, the Lucky Leprechaun. You could even hop over to Greenville Avenue for the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Race day registration and packet pickup start at 6:30 a.m., but you can save time and money by registering online and picking up your merch beforehand. Tickets are $42 to $59 per person, depending on when you buy them. You can save $5 per participant for those eight years old and younger, 60 years old and older, or groups of four or more. Your ticket comes with swag, including a T-shirt and finisher medal, and gets you free food on the day of the race and free beer for those over 21.
Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade
One of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the South, the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Greenville Avenue area could be the perfect holiday activity for you and your family. From small, humble beginnings in 1979, this exciting event has become a beloved tradition among North Texas residents. With over one hundred floats and exhibitors, including bands playing authentic Irish bagpipe music, it will amaze visitors of all ages. Along with enjoying the parade, you can also explore different vendors, food trucks, inflatables, and various activities.
Hosted by the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association on Saturday, March 12, 2022, the parade starts on Blackwell Street at 11 a.m. and ends on SMU Boulevard at 2 p.m. However, feel free to come early because the block party at Energy Square goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The streets will be closed and complete, so consider using ride-sharing services to make things as easy as possible. There are DART stations at Park Lane and Lovers Lane for travel convenience.
St. Patrick’s Day Block Party Feat. Matt and Kim
Celebrate this year’s Irish festivities at St. Patrick’s Day Block Party, a free outdoor block party at AT&T Discovery District. This event will feature musical headliners Matt and Kim, an indie electronic duo from Brooklyn, performances by Irish folk dancers, and other live entertainment.
