This jam-packed festival will have plenty of fun things to experience, including live music, carnival games, inflatables, face painting, axe throwing, and even a zip line for kids. Of course, there’ll also be delicious food trucks and beer on tap to enjoy. Fill up on concessions like hamburgers and corn dogs, try a healthy acai bowl, or turn your tongues red or blue with some sweet and refreshing shaved ice.
Eat, drink, and play games with the whole family while exploring everything this special historic venue has to see and do. Remember to bring lawn chairs and blankets so you can spend some time sitting, relaxing, and listening to the variety of talented local bands that will be there. You’ll have the chance to hear everything from genuine Irish folk and Celtic rock music to classic Texas country and Americana tunes. The City of Lewisville is hosting this event on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and admission is free.
St. Paddy’s Day Dash 5K
Get up and get active on this year’s St. Patrick’s Day by joining the annual St. Paddy’s Day Dash 5K in Dallas, Texas, just a 30-minute drive from Lewisville. Make sure to wear green, and consider donning beads, a kilt, or a tutu to get into the holiday spirit. If your outfit’s crazy enough, you might just win the tutu contest. After your run or walk, enjoy the after-party where you can eat, drink, take photos, and dance to music by DJ Dame.
Meet at Central Market on 5750 East Lovers Lane on Saturday, March 12, 2022, to start the 5K race at 8:00 a.m. Try to find your own pot of gold by competing for a cash prize. The winners are the top three fastest male and female runners in each age group, and the age groups start at nine years old and under. Along with attending the post-race awards ceremony, test your skills in the doughnut-eating contest or try to find Jason, the Lucky Leprechaun. You could even hop over to Greenville Avenue for the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Race day registration and packet pickup starts at 6:30 a.m., but you can save time and money by registering early online and picking up your merch beforehand. Tickets are $42 to $59 per person, depending on when you buy them. You can save $5 per participant for those eight years old and younger, 60 years old and older, or groups of four or more. Your ticket comes with swag, including a T-shirt and finisher medal, and gets you free food on the day of the race and free beer for those over 21.
Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade
One of the largest St. Patrick’s Day parades in the South, the Dallas St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the Greenville Avenue area could be the perfect holiday activity for you and your family. From small, humble beginnings in 1979, this exciting event has grown to become a beloved tradition among North Texas residents. With over one hundred floats and exhibitors to see, including bands playing authentic Irish bagpipe music, it’s sure to amaze visitors of all ages. Along with enjoying the parade, you can also explore different vendors, food trucks, inflatables, and all sorts of activities.
Hosted by the Greenville Avenue Area Business Association on Saturday, March 12, 2022, the parade starts on Blackwell Street at 11 a.m. and ends on SMU Boulevard at 2 p.m. However, feel free to come early because the block party at Energy Square goes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The streets will be closed and full, so consider using ride-sharing services to make things as easy as possible. There are DART stations at Park Lane and Lovers Lane for your traveling convenience.
St. Patrick’s Day Block Party Feat. Matt and Kim
Celebrate this year’s Irish festivities at St. Patrick’s Day Block Party, a free outdoor block party at AT&T Discovery District. This event will feature musical headliners Matt and Kim, an indie electronic duo from Brooklyn, performances by Irish folk dancers, and other live entertainment. Along with a kids zone, the venue will also have a live broadcast of the Lower Greenville parade on the Media Wall. While you’re there, explore what this high-tech plaza has to offer and stop by a highly rated restaurant like Jaxon Texas Kitchen and Beer Garden to grab some delicious Southern comfort food.
Paddy Dash
This St. Patrick’s Day, consider joining the annual Paddy Dash in the exciting city of Frisco, Texas. This athletic event is a great way to donate to a charitable cause while exercising with friends and family members. Tickets are $15 for the Fun Run and $30 for the 5K, and you’ll get a T-shirt and a custom finisher medal. If you have time after the race, you could even pop by the downtown area to visit the Frisco Heritage Center, the National Videogame Museum, or the Sci-Tech Discovery Center for kids.
